7 signs that you should quit and be better sooner than later.

We all want to work in a good team and in a high-paying position. But sometimes our current work is far from what we would like to do for the rest of our lives

However, we convince ourselves: "It's all right, yes, it's not the job of my dream, but at the moment everything is fine." And there's nothing wrong with being comfortable at work. But keep in mind that, satisfaction can easily lead to complacency, and this is already dangerous.

Self-restraint leads to excuses "I'll quit in a few months", "I just do not have time to look for another job" and humility "in general, this is not a bad job." But what is most terrible, self-justification generates fear, which pushes us back. Too many intelligent and talented people stop at "normal" work. When they still decide to move on, it turns out that they are so stagnant that they can not even update their resume, let alone talk about changing jobs.
They are seized by fear of the labor market, feel that they are not reaching their peers, believing that the train has already left. Insecurity begins to prevail, in this case it is easiest to leave any search and continue to work in the usual place.

Here's the advice that you want to grow professionally: do not calm yourself. On the contrary, from time to time analyze your career and goals, think, maybe it's time to take the next step? What are the signs that it's time to seriously consider resigning?

Here are the seven strongest signals.

1 - You keep the status quo.

If for three years you work in the same company in one position without any promotion or salary increase (and you are seeking career growth), then you should look for another place. Even in large companies, where it is rather difficult to achieve an increase, during this period you should have at least some steps forward.

2 - You do not get a kickback.

If your immediate supervisor does not react to your work (or his reaction is too vague), it is very difficult to understand how to behave so that the career goes up the hill. A good leader worries about your career development, gives advice and instructions. And if not, then it is worth looking for another.

3 - You do not study.

Do you not have any difficulties and do not learn anything interesting? This can be a signal to action. Perhaps at work you do not learn something every day, but you must improve your skills and learn new things. Of course, you can take it in your hands: ask for a new project, sign up for courses or attend a seminar, for example. But if there are no such opportunities on the current job, it pushes the idea that the company is not interested in your career growth.

4 - Someone periodically leaves.

Do you feel that people around you are constantly updating their resumes and questionnaires on LinkedIn? You began to notice that employees (especially good ones) periodically leave early or take time off? All these are signs that a good job is somewhere near. This does not mean that you need to blindly follow the crowd, but take this fact for a sign and ask the dismissed friends why they decided to leave. Their answers can clarify your situation.

5 - Regular restructuring is taking place in your company.

Constant reorganization or shuffling of leaders can lead to problems with the leader and a shaky strategic direction. (Four different bosses a year - this is not good). Reorganization can give a chance to come forward, but more often, it leads to instability. More importantly, it creates complex conditions for your career growth, priorities, goals and achievements can suffer.

6 - You are looking for head hunters.

You get annoying emails and call recruitment agencies, but you can not find a new job? Do not completely ignore them. A large number of calls and letters can indicate that your specialty is popular, and companies have vacancies (read: better position and more salary). Specify who is required, what is the responsibility and what is the average wage.

7 - You have a feeling that it's time to leave.

In addition to all external factors, do not neglect your inner voice. No one knows your working environment better than you. And if you have a feeling that you will be better somewhere else, follow it. Considering that many of us spend more than 40 hours a week at work, it's worth thinking about to make it as comfortable as possible.

Even if you are absolutely happy at work, get in the habit of analyzing the career situation, at least twice a year. This is not only a good opportunity to review your achievements (and update your resume!), But also to assess the market situation within your industry. But most importantly, you either once again realize that you like your work, or discover new opportunities and take a step forward.
